While Higher Ground aims to guide and support local at-risk youth with a variety of opportunities, the love, and support of their family members is equally important to help them reach their full potential. We understand that the success of the youth is closely related to the success and health of the family members in their lives. Higher Ground’s mentors are available to help youth and their loved ones work on solutions to their family’s stresses and provide an objective, caring sounding board.

Higher Ground has plans to partner with organizations to offer local families the following services:

 

• Mobile medical clinic

 

• Parenting programs and classes

 

• Education on identifying risk factors for gang induction

 

• Support programs for families experiencing substance or child abuse issues

 

• Free access to child psychologists

 

• Budgeting/financial planning tools
