Coming Soon... A Kaboom Playground for Our Kids

The City of Anaheim, Disney, The Anaheim Family YMCA, Higher Ground Youth and Family Services, along with several other organizations are working together to create a Kaboom Playground at Lincoln Park… only steps away from the Higher Ground Kitchen and Offices. The playground will be complete on May 7th and we will have the ribbon cutting ceremony taking place later that day at 2:30p

To further prepare our youth, we have created "Higher Ground Bonus Bucks," which we generously give to our kids when we catch them "in the act of doing something good." To make it more fun we created the HG store, where our kids can come "shop" and purchase "must have" items every Friday! For those students who don't like to carry money in their pockets they can go directly to The Bank of Higher Ground and put their money in their account.

Amanda Hansen from CSULB, Devany Smith and Patrick Cordoso from Chapman University, and Emma Toohey (current student at Rosary Academy) presented Higher Ground to over 500 Rosary Royals... they explained the activities that take place at HG and encouraged the girls to volunteer.

Higher Ground hosted a pep rally at Sycamore Junior High…1,400 junior highers were in attendance! The rally was inviting the kids to play in our new Higher Ground sports leagues. These leagues will be going on through April and May with a league party as the finale!

Over 50 Higher Ground Kids worked with 11 mentors planting this season's fruits and vegetables. Not only will the kids harvest the crops in a few months but they will prepare the food in the kitchen.
